How It Works

Bren's TableKindlemark · Bren's Tavern · Evening

Bren stops wiping the counter and looks you over, the hearthstone ticking with heat behind him. "Sera, is it. Sera Quill." He slides a clay mug your way. "Two riders came in off the Old King's Road last night. Iron lockbox between them, chains still cold from the river crossing, hands shaking so bad they could barely count out the coin for a room."

From upstairs, floorboards creak. Pacing. Back and forth across the good room.

"Sweating like they're hauling a king's ransom, or somebody's death warrant." Bren leans in. "Interested, Quill?"

Bren palms the crown without looking at it. "No crest. That's what's interesting. Plain iron, master-forged, not a mark on it. The only folk who scrub off their colors are folk worth noticing." He tips his chin at the stairs. "Room's paid through noon."

Asked at the Bar

Do I need to know tabletop RPGs to play?

No. There are no rulebooks to study and no wrong moves. Pick a class, describe yourself, and Bren handles the rules and the dice math. Veterans will find the deep end; newcomers won't fall in by accident.

Do I have to schedule sessions?

Never. It's just you and Bren, so the tavern door is open whenever you are. No calendars, no ghosted group chats.

I only get random 15-minute windows. Is that enough?

Yes. A round takes about a minute, and Bren keeps your place, your gear and every grudge between visits. Your campaigns are saved in the browser you play on.

Can my character die?

Not quite. Drop to zero and you fall: someone drags you back to Bren's Tavern with a quarter of your health and a fifth of your crowns gone. The story goes on, and the road remembers.

Is it the same story every time?

Start in Kindlemark, Bren's frontier town, or describe a world of your own. Who you meet, what you break and who you become comes from how you play, so no two campaigns run the same.

Can I make up whatever I want?

You write what your character does; Bren decides what happens. Claim you found a legendary sword and you might get one. It might also be cursed, fake, or somebody else's.

I'm always the forever-DM. Can I finally play?

Retire the screen. Bren runs the whole table so you can roll a character and swing a sword for once.

Can I play with friends?

Not yet. Bren's Table is a solo game today. Playing together is on the road ahead.

What does it cost?

Your account gets 10 free rounds, and they refill every 30 days. If you want more, round packs start at $4.99. See Pricing.

Is my story private?

Yes. Your campaigns live in your own browser, not on a public profile. We don't sell your data, and Bren doesn't gossip.

Done Waiting Two Weeks Between Sessions?
